When I first started at the IGA, there was a guy named Kevin Leutgens, many of you I’m sure remember him well. He suggested that I work out some way to provide a discount to local residence. I explained to him that there was really no way to execute such a plan. He has since left us, but the idea has remained.
When I started the locals only specials, it was my intention to only run it during the winter. The program has worked so well that we have left it in place year round.
I have been asked, "How do you know someone is a year round resident or local?" My simple answer is, "I don’t." If you visit Topsail Island and love it then you are as much a local as any in my book. I believe that it is a state of mind and not tied to any residency. I appreciate your business.
